If you’re planing on taking a flight to the islands, there are a few options.  Two airlines offer direct flights from Vancouver.  Trips arrive and depart from Sandspit (Moresby Island).  Seaplane service is also available between Prince Rupert and Sandspit.  Any and all guests who fly into Sandspit will be shuttled for free between the guest house and the airport.

BC Ferries operates a year-round car ferry service from Prince Rupert, B.C to Queen Charlotte-Skidgate (The Southern Tip of Grahm Island). It is highly recommended you place a reservation for the ferry as far in advance as possible.  Ferries do not operate on a daily basis, please view the Queen Charlotte Island Schedule for current times.  After arriving in Skidgate the MV Kwuna, a connecting ferry, will take you to Alliford Bay. All guests of Captain Ron’s who come by foot will be shuttled from the Alliford Bay ferry free of charge.  Just give us 48 hours notice of your arrival so we can be there to pick you up. If your coming by car, follow these “Directions to Sandspit.”

By Car:

1. Head north on Hwy 16 toward Kwuna Point Rd, drive 9.7 km
2. Continue onto Alliford Bay Rd for 2.6 km
3. Continue onto Beach Rd for 0.5 km

Directions from Powell River

Take the Earl's Cover ferry from Saltery Bay Terminal. (Fare is for round trip) From Earl's Cove, follow the signs to Sechelt (54km). On entering Sechelt, the Courthouse/Police Station will be straight ahead. Take the fork either way; the roads meet again. When you get to the end of the street, turn left (Wharf Road). About 300 meters further will be the main intersection. (There is an Esso gas station on the right.) Go straight through the intersection. We are the last commercial building on the left at 5653 Wharf Road, 2nd floor. Plenty of parking is available.

Bus Transportation

Alternatively, the Malaspina Bus is available to Sechelt from Vancouver or Powell River twice a day. Take the bus directly from the Vancouver International Airport, the Vancouver Bus Depot, or the Powell River Bus Depot. The bus arrives in Sechelt directly in front of our door. (Same building.) When you get off the bus at the University Bus Loop, walk towards the east side of the University Centre until you come across a large brick walkway (Winegard Walk). Follow Winegard Walk north until you hit College Ave., where there is a crosswalk. Across the crosswalk, follow the pathway on the right hand side, and down a few small flights of stairs. At the end of the pathway, you will come to three sets of double doors. Inside these doors and to the left is the North desk.
East Townhall desk (check-in desk for suites and townhouses):
When you get off the bus at the University Bus Loop, walk towards the east side of the University Centre until you come across a large brick walkway (Winegard Walk). Follow Winegard Walk north until you hit Reynolds Walk (walkway on your right just after ascending the stairs near the University Centre). Take a right onto Reynolds walk, walking past the Athletics Centre, until you come to a crosswalk at East Ring Rd. Cross the crosswalk and take a left which puts the townhouses on your right hand side. At the first opportunity take a right into the townhouse complex, and walk until you come to East Townhall on your right (it's built into the complex with a sign outside). Through the double doors at the front, take a left to the East Desk.

It will drop you at the Montréal Central Bus Station located at 505 de Maisonneuve Blvd. E. From there you can take a taxi or hop in the metro (underground train), take direction Angrignon and get out at station Guy Concordia. Once out of the metro station you will be on the corner of Maisonneuve & Guy street, from there you walk east on Maisonneuve (in the direction of the Java U coffee shop) then make a right on Mackay street.

If you arrive by train at Gare Central (Central Station), walk three blocks north on Mansfield St. from the station to Saint-Catherine Street, then turn left (west) and walk eight blocks to Mackay. Turn right and we are on the right.

If you arrive by car:
From the west: The Trans Canada Highway is called the Autoroute 401 in Québec. Take the exit for Autoroute 40 Est and move immediately to the left lane. Take the exit for Autoroute Décarie. Follow the signs for Autoroute Ville-Marie. ( this seems like a lot of highways, but the trips on each are only a few kilometers. BTW a kilometer is 0.6 miles. Take the exit for Rue Guy, and go straight three blocks to rue Saint-Catherine. Turn right and go four blocks to Mackay. Turn left, and we are on the left.

Montreal has an excellent public transit system that can get you anywhere in the city. The first time you go to a metro station, ask the ticket taker or our staff for the Plan de Réseau. It is the official public transit map, one of the best maps of the city, and it is free. You can download it here (www.stm.info/english/info/reseau2007.pdf), but it is too big to print. The Société de Transport de Montréal offers other good maps on their web site (www.stm.info/english/info/a-plans.htm).
