Directions: East Entrance (from Trans Canada Highway)
The East Entrance into Banff puts you onto Banff Avenue. Continue along Banff Avenue and cross the Bow River, staying in the left lane. Banff Y Mountain Lodge is immediately on your left. You can drop-off and pick-up in the driveway or park in the rear of the building.

West Entrance (from Trans Canada Highway)
The West Entrance into Banff leads you onto Lynx Street. Cross the railway tracks, the hospital is on your right. Continue along Lynx Street until you get to a T-intersection, with Central Park straight-ahead and the Banff Library on your right. Turn left onto Buffalo Street, and then right onto Banff Avenue. Cross the Bow River bridge and from the left lane, make a left turn. Banff Y Mountain Lodge is immediately on your left.

Churchill Square is 4 blocks away as is the Shaw Conference Centre. The University of Alberta Enterprise centre is 2 blocks away and Grant MacEwan College downtown is a 7 block walk. NAIT is accessible by bus #9 from one block away from our location. We also have a Sobeys grocery store three blocks providing quick access to buy your meals!

Airport: Take Sky Shuttle–Downtown and request our stop.
Greyhound Station : 8-minute walk or 3-minute taxi ride.
Train Station: Taxi in about 12 minutes or take bus #12 to Kingsway Mall and switch to bus #9. Get off the Edmonton Journal Building and walk west 1 block.

We are a block away from both the Central and the Bay LRT stations which connect by light rapid transit to the University of Alberta, Commonwealth stadium, Rexall Place (home of the Edmonton Oilers) and the rest of downtown.

Directions: We are 1 hour north of Nanaimo and 2½ hours north of Victoria. From Campbell River, we are approximately 40 minutes south. It takes roughly 25 minutes to drive to Mount Washington.
By Car: From the Old Island Hwy South, as you enter Courtenay the Hwy becomes Cliffe Ave. Stay on Cliffe until the end. Turn right on 1st Street and right again on Anderton Ave. The Cona is at the end on the left hand side. From the Old Island Hwy North, as you enter Courtenay, just past Lewis and Millenium Parks you’ll cross over the Courtenay River on the “5th Street Bridge”. Make a right on Anderton immediately after the bridge and another right into The Cona.
The Cona Hostel offers you free parking.
By Bus: From the Courtenay bus depot walk across the street to Driftwood Mall and across the mall parking lot to Cliffe Ave. By foot, it is about a 20-25 minute walk north (left) on Cliffe. At the 5th Street traffic lights, cross over 5th and head right down the hill. We are on the left just before the 5th Street Bridge.
By Train: We are approximately 10 minutes by foot from the station. Walk East on Cumberland Road a few blocks, turn left on Cliffe Ave. At the 5th Street traffic lights, cross over 5th and head right down the hill. We are on the left just before the 5th Street Bridge.
By plane: From the Comox Airport we are a $30 cab ride to our location. We have a shuttle service available for small groups of up to 12 people for $40. Check out www.conashuttle.com for more info.

• Take bus # 7 in front of the Greyhound Depot to city center / Lansdowne exchange.
  
• From the Lansdowne exchange transfer to bus # 3 ( to Westsyde ).
  
• Bus # 3 will go over the river bridge ( 5 min ), North Shore Transit ( 10 min ), Safeway supermarket, Canadian Tire ( 11 min ), Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Liquor Depot. Get off the bus after the intersection between 8th St and 7th St. ( 12 min ). There is a church behind the bus stop.
  
• Go back to 7th St. , turn left, follow 7th St to Cumberland Ave. turn left to Kamloops Guesthouse. It takes 3 min only by walking.

By Car leave the Airport and follow Highway 97 (Harvey Road) west to Abbott. The hostel is on the Southwest corner.
If coming in by Car from Vancouver, take Highway #1 to Hope,
from Hope, take highway #5 to Merritt (make sure you have $10 for the toll)
then turn right (East) on Highway #97C.
Proceed to Highway #97 then travel on Highway #97 across the floating bridge in Kelowna and look for our yellow building after your first set of lights.
If coming in from Banff, take highway #1 west to Sicamous then turn left on highway #97A to Kelowna

From the Greyhound Bus Station
SameSun Backpacker Lodges is a $12 taxi ride away from the Kelowna Greyhound station. Or public transporation is also available. From the bus station, simply walk over to Orchard Park Mall and catch the #10 or #11 bus to Queensway and then walk south to Harvey and the hostel is located at Harvey and Abbott.

When you get into Vancouver, continue along Highway 99 and it will eventually turn in to Oak St. Once you reach Broadway, turn left. Continue on Broadway to Granville and turn right. This will take you over the Granville Street bridge - we are on the right 3 blocks after the bridge.

From Whistler
Drive into Vancouver take the Lions Gate Bridge follow Georgia at Howe Street and turn right. Travel on to Nelson and turn left. Travel a couple blocks on Nelson to Granville and you will see us 100 meters from the intersection to the right.

Miramichi Transit: www.miramichitransit.com (the bus has three different lines in the city). The Hostel is on the GREEN LINE if you are in the Chatham area (Chatham centre area or NBCC College); The Hostel is on the RED LINE if you are coming from Newcastle centre (train Via Rail Station or the Acadien Bus Station). BLUE LINE can be caught in Chatam Centre and takes you over the big ‘Centennial Bridge’ to Douglastown centre and then travels on to Newcastle through all of the commercial strip development. You have to transfer to this Blue Line in Chatham centre, if you are at the Hostel.

From Sydney or NFLD Ferry, follow highway #105 towards Port Hastings. We are located at 10705 in Aberdeen, 30 km past Baddeck on the way to Whycocomagh. Please be careful with traffic as you turn onto our long driveway up the hill. Our neighbours are on the bottom of our driveway.

Our Location

Our campus is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. Everything you need is virtually within walking distance. If it is not walkable, you can "Ride the Rocket" known as the TTC (Toronto's transit system), or you can hail one of the many cabs on Yonge Street- the city's main artery and the longest street in the world. The major intersection closest to Ryerson is Dundas and Yonge, and the nearest subway station is Dundas station.

Public Transportation (TTC)

The Ryerson campus has convenient access to numerous TTC routes. These include:

• Yonge/Dundas subway station: Walk one block north on Yonge from the Eaton Centre to Gould Street, turn right at Sam the Record Man, walk one block east to Victoria Street.
• Yonge/College subway station: Walk one block south from College Park on Yonge Street, turn left at Gerrard Street, walk one block east to Victoria Street.

Go Transit

Car

Ryerson is bounded by four major city streets: Gerrard (north), Dundas (south), Jarvis (east), and Yonge (west). Main traffic routes are as follows:
Highway 401 east or west to Yonge Street, south on Yonge, turn left (east) at Gerrard or Gould (no turns are permitted at Yonge and Dundas).
Don Valley Parkway south to Bloor Street, turn right (west) at Bloor, turn left (south) at Church, continue until Gerrard, Gould or Dundas.
Gardiner Expressway east or west to Yonge Street, continue north until Gould or Gerrard. City street maps show alternate routes.

Coach

Airport

From Toronto's Lester B. Pearson International Airport (YYZ) take Highway 427 south to the QEW going east. Exit on Jarvis St. and turn left onto Dundas St.. Getting to UW

By Car

From Highway 401 take exit 278 (from Toronto) or exit 278B (from London) to Highway 8 West, Kitchener. Exit at Highway 85 to Waterloo. Take the 2nd University Avenue exit, marked West. Follow University Avenue West to Phillip Street, which is the 8th light past the exit. Turn right onto Phillip Street. At the next light turn left on Columbia Street. Follow Columbia Street past the stoplight which marks the north entrance to the University. At the next entrance, turn left and follow the signs to Ron Eydt Village. Parking is available in Lots V and S which are just past Lot K, after you enter the campus.

By Train, Bus, or Plane

You can easily reach the University of Waterloo by taking the Via Rail train or the Greyhound bus to Kitchener, and then Grand River Transit to the campus. Transportation from Pearson International Airport in Toronto the closest major airport is available by contacting Airways Transit at 519-886-2121.

If you arrive in the city at Trudeau airport, there is a bus service to downtown. Get the schedule here (www.admtl.com/passager/acces_et_stationnement/_aerobus.aspx). It will drop you at the Montréal Central Bus Station located at 505 de Maisonneuve Blvd. E. From there you can take a taxi or hop in the metro (underground train), take direction Angrignon and get out at station Guy Concordia. Once out of the metro station you will be on the corner of Maisonneuve & Guy street, from there you walk east on Maisonneuve (in the direction of the Java U coffee shop) then make a right on Mackay street.

If you arrive by train at Gare Central (Central Station), walk three blocks north on Mansfield St. from the station to Saint-Catherine Street, then turn left (west) and walk eight blocks to Mackay. Turn right and we are on the right.

If you arrive by car:
From the west: The Trans Canada Highway is called the Autoroute 401 in Québec. Take the exit for Autoroute 40 Est and move immediately to the left lane. Take the exit for Autoroute Décarie. Follow the signs for Autoroute Ville-Marie. ( this seems like a lot of highways, but the trips on each are only a few kilometers. BTW a kilometer is 0.6 miles. Take the exit for Rue Guy, and go straight three blocks to rue Saint-Catherine. Turn right and go four blocks to Mackay. Turn left, and we are on the left.
From the south: Cross the Pont Champlain and follow the signs for Centre-ville. When you get to the end of the highway continue straight up University Street for about 10 blocks until you get to rue de Maisonneuve. Turn left and go 10 blocks to Mackay St, and turn left. We are on your left.
From the east: Take Autoroute 40 west and take the exit for Autoroute Décarie. Follow the signs for Autoroute Ville-Marie. Montreal has an excellent public transit system that can get you anywhere in the city. The first time you go to a metro station, ask the ticket taker or our staff for the Plan de Réseau. It is the official public transit map, one of the best maps of the city, and it is free. You can download it here (www.stm.info/english/info/reseau2007.pdf), but it is too big to print. The Société de Transport de Montréal offers other good maps on their web site (www.stm.info/english/info/a-plans.htm).

The closest metro station to the Auberge is the Guy-Concordia Station (www.stm.info/english/metro/a-m34.htm#Quartier). The link on the station will give you the metro schedule and also the schedules of all the buses that serve the station, and the Auberge.
